Fees and Appointments

Fees normally reflect the qualifications and experience of the practitioner. Occasionally therapists will negotiate fees since it is understood that therapy usually involves regular sessions over a period of time. More frequent sessions might be advantageous if affordable. But if fees are felt to be too expensive it is better to have regular sessions with a greater interval between appointments (such as once per fortnight or even monthly) than not to have any, if that helps to manage the cost.

The cost of therapy should not create a burden greater than
that which brings someone to therapy in the first place.

Usually psychotherapy is open-ended such that the time to complete the process is discussed and agreed. Many clients find it useful to return down the track after some time. There is great benefit in being able to pick up with a therapist where you left off, and see someone who knows you, knows your history and has had prior experience of working together.

Fee Policy: Please give a minimum of 48 hours notice to cancel or alter the time of an appointment, or the usual full fee will be charged. Sessions are typically 50 minutes unless varied by mutual agreement.

We are negotiable and willing to reduce our fees within a reasonable limit where there is a genuine need combined with a genuine desire to work with one of us. We recommend making an appointment for an initial free consultation to discuss your personal circumstances. If the cost of therapy is an issue, then please do not hesitate to discuss this with us. We can often make suggestions to make therapy possible.
